The following are tips to help in preparing your car for transport

  • Your vehicle should be operable: it must start, steer, brake, roll forward and reverse, and have inflated tires.
  • Your vehicle can be transported if it is inoperable, however additional fees will apply.
  • The fuel tank should have a minimum of (1/8) tank, but not more than (1/4) tank.
  • We must be informed of all modifications made to your vehicle for example: 4×4 lift kit, camper shell, vehicle lowered, excess length or width, etc. Most modifications require special procedures and additional fees may apply.
  • If your vehicle is above 7’ in height, special methods and additional costs may apply. Your vehicle must have a minimum of 4” ground clearance to safely load and unload your vehicle.
  • You must provide a working phone number where you will be available throughout the duration of your vehicle relocation.
  • The vehicle cannot have any noticeable fluid leaks.
  • The battery must be secured in the mounting bracket or frame of your vehicle.
  • The vehicle should be clean for a thorough inspection. An unclean vehicle decreases the capability to complete a quality inspection.
  • If there is an alarm system, you must disable, disconnect or turn off.
  • All antennas should be fully retracted or removed. All exterior covers must be removed (ie: spare tire, grill, or car covers) you may lock these in the vehicle trunk.
  • Personal belongings must be removed, excluding standard vehicle items (ie: jack and spare tire). CD players, radios or cassette decks not built in, car phones, garage door openers, and E-Z pass must be removed. Electronic devices such as computer equipment are not permitted.
  • Plants and hazardous materials are forbidden by law to be transported.
  • You must provide one set of ALL keys for the vehicle.
  • Non-permanent luggage racks, bike racks, and ski racks must be removed.
  • Your best source for tracking and updating the status of your vehicle while in-transit will be the communications you obtain from our dispatcher. Take into account that estimates on pickup and delivery times are “estimates” only.
  • Transport times vary depending on the time of year and the origin and destination of your particular move.
  • You are required to prepare your vehicle for the new relocation environment. Including engine coolant, transmission oil, and other fluids. R.A.M. cannot be held accountable for faulty maintenance on the vehicle.
